Philadelphia Chrysler drivers could be driving one of the safest vehicles according to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. With twelve models as Top Safety Picks, Chrysler Group dominates the competition.

This marks the second consecutive year Chrysler Group has twelve models as IIHS Top Safety Picks. 2013 and 2012 Philadelphia Chrysler drivers clearly made the right choice to keep their loved ones safe on the road, and with the 2014 models being released Chrysler Group shows no signs of slowing down.

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety Proves Chrysler Group’s Vehicles Are Superior

Both the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 midsize sedans earned the new IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. Philadelphia Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger drivers benefit from features like advanced multi-stage, front-passenger air bags, front-seat side air bags, electronic stability control with electronic traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, supplemental side-curtain air bags, and the LATCH child-seat anchor system.

The advanced features of the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 sedans helps earned Top Safety Pick+ designation because of their performances in a new IIHS driver-side crash test. This test subjects 25 percent of a vehicle’s front end to a 40-mph collision with a five-foot-tall rigid barrier.

In small car testing the all-new Dodge Dart prevailed. This is the second time in less than 12 weeks the 2013 Dodge Dart has been acclaimed by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. Philadelphia Chrysler Dodge Dart drivers also benefit as it is the only car in its segment to feature Rear Cross Path detection, which alerts drivers to traffic that approaches the vehicle’s rear from a 90-degree angle.

Chrysler Group’s IIHS winners also include the Fiat 500 in the minicar category; Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger for large family cars; Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan for minivans; Dodge Journey, Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee for midsize SUVs; and Jeep Patriot for small SUV when equipped with optional side air bags.
