A Guelph used car dealership recently had quite a surprise for its customers when the prestigious Grey Cup came for a visit. Eastern Division Canadian Football fans had a chance to meet the trophy and a special guest.

Used cars apparently aren’t the only gems you will find at Mark Wilson’s Better Used Cars. This premium Guelph used car dealership was delighted when it was chosen for a visit from The Grey Cup on Monday, December 3^rd, 2012.

Shoppers of the Guelph used car dealership were also treated to another special guest. The famous Toronto Argonauts kicker Noel Prefontaine delivered the cup, and stayed for the event.

The Grey Cup Visits Guelph

As the showroom buzzed with staff, customers, and Football fans, Noel Prefontaine carried the Grey Cup into the office. Everyone admired the shiny trophy, and were granted permission to take photos wit the cup and with Noel.

Mark Wilson’s Better Used Cars in Guelph thanked Noel for being so friendly and patient with everyone at the dealership. He showed what it truly means to be a sports star by connecting with those who admire him.

For those who do not know, the Grey Cup is also the name of the championship tournament of the Canadian Football League, and the Grey Cup trophy is given to the winning team. The reason why a member of the Toronto Argonauts attended the event is because the team holds 16 championship wins, which is the most any team has own. They are also the cup holder with their 2012 win during the 100th annual Grey Cup tournament.

The Grey Cup was introduced and donated in 1909 by Earl Grey, the Governor General of Canada at the time. The trophy has been broken on several occasions, and has been stolen twice and held for ransom. In 1947 it survived a fire that destroyed numerous other items held in the same building.
